I’m not long back from Praia D’el Rey with the GM boys and 4 of their top 25 coaches. We had a great team made up of Tappers and Hulk from Golf Monthly, Legendary coaches Andrew Reynolds, Gary Smith, Barney Puttick and Steve North, Snappers Tom Miles and myself. As far as perfect locations go when shooting instructional images for Golf Monthly, Praia D’el Rey will take some beating. Located on the Atlantic coast about an hours drive North of Lisbon, it’s essentially a combination of beautiful Fir lined parkland holes mixed with some of the most stunning and difficult links holes you could ever wish to play.  Unfortunately the bad luck I was having with the weather decided to plague me yet again! We had to constantly take shelter from the storms that were battering the course and also the Marriott hotel where we were staying. The waves were reaching 4 meters and although made a stunning backdrop for the images the conditions made it very difficult to shoot with the high winds and heavy rain. Although these trips are hard work they are also interesting and always brilliant fun. Eventually we managed to call it a day on Friday after 5 days of sporadic shooting. I was staying a few extra days to go and shoot a nearby course called Golden Eagle, as I said farewell to the team I was hoping for a break in the weather with some sun and blue skies… to be continued!
